Course Objective:  To learn the history of the world’s oldest continuous civilization, and one of today’s world superpowers.  

 

Textbook:  Patricia Buckley Ebrey, Cambridge Illustrated History of China. 

 

Classroom Rules: Please respect all your teachers and classmates, be honest, do your best in class, keep awake, and keep your classroom and country clean. Treat others the way you wish to be treated.

 

Course Grading Assessment:

As stated in official school policy, absences will be deducted directly from final grade.  So, come to class!

British review paper for Brit-US History course

BRITISH HISTORY Review Paper  (Dr. Gary L. Todd)

This is the first of two review papers for the one-semester course of British and American History. A second review paper for the American history half of the course is also available at this website. This review paper contains the text of all the text-only slides, plus many of the captions to slides with photos. If you print it up in advance, you will not need to take notes in class. All exam questions will be based on topics contained in this review paper. The review paper generally follows the textbook, but contains some new material. It is intended only as a guideline for purposes of review. You should still read the textbook. I have tried to be as historically accurate as possible.  Course Objective:  To learn the history of Britain & America; to develop an awareness, understanding and appreciation of the culture from which the English language derives.  

 Course Materials: An Outline Introduction to Britain and America, textbook. Students should always come prepared to class with their book, notebook or course outline, and pen
